Contact

If you have questions about this policy or your data, email me at contacto@albertotaboada.com.mx.

What personal data I collect and why

  • Contact forms (e.g., Elementor): I collect the information you submit (name, email, phone, company, message) to respond to your inquiry. Submissions may be emailed to me and stored on my hosting/server for troubleshooting and record-keeping.
  • Comments: When visitors leave comments I collect the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email may be provided to Gravatar to see if you are using it. See Automattic’s privacy policy.
  • Media uploads: If you upload images, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images.
  • Analytics & performance: I may use privacy-friendly analytics or third-party analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand traffic and improve the site. These tools collect usage data (pages viewed, device, general location, referrer). IPs may be truncated or pseudonymized when possible.
  • Logs & security: My host may log IP addresses and user agents for security, fraud prevention, and debugging.

Cookies

I use cookies to run the site and remember your preferences. If you leave a comment you may opt in to saving your name, email and website in cookies for your convenience. If you log in, I set cookies to save your login and screen options. These last from the end of your session up to one year. Analytics cookies (if enabled) help me measure traffic and performance. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, posts). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you visited the other website and may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction, especially if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who I share your data with

I do not sell your personal data. I share it only with service providers that help me operate the site (hosting, email delivery, analytics, security) under appropriate safeguards. If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email.

How long I retain your data

Contact form entries are kept for up to 12 months for customer service, unless I need them longer for a project or legal reasons. Comment metadata is retained indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-up comments. For registered users (if any), I store the personal information provided in their profile. I can see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

  • Request access to the personal data I hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of your data (unless I must keep it for legal/security reasons).
  • Object to or restrict certain processing and request a portable copy of your data.

If you are in regions with specific privacy laws (e.g., EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights. To exercise rights, email contacto@albertotaboada.com.mx. I may ask you to verify your identity.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. If I use analytics, email, or hosting services outside your country, your data may be processed internationally with safeguards in place.

How I protect your data

  • Transport encryption (HTTPS) and hardened hosting.
  • Least-privilege access and strong authentication on admin tools.
  • Regular updates to WordPress, themes, and plugins.

Children’s privacy

This site is not intended for children under 13. I do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact me to delete it.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. I will post the new date at the top when I do. If changes are material, I will provide a more prominent notice.
